Edward Charles Gainey is an American politician who is the 61st mayor of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Previously, he served as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from the 24th district. In November 2021, Gainey became the first African-American to be elected mayor of Pittsburgh, and assumed office on January 3, 2022.
